Department of Energy Employees Occupational Injury Compensation
The federal government has established a program to provide compensation to workers at the Department of Energy facilities. Workers who have suffered from a cancer, beryllium disease or chronic silicosis are eligible for a lump sum payment of $150,000 and sometimes payment of medical expenses associated with that disease. The worker's surviving spouse or other relative is also eligible to file for compensation if the worker has passed away.
This federal program also offers to assist workers and their families to obtain federal workers' compensation benefits for those individuals who may not have been diagnosed with a cancer, but who have an illness, such as asbestosis, that is work related.
Nassios & McLaughlin has represented hundreds of individuals and their families seeking lump sum compensation and worker's compensation claims and has recovered approximately $25 million dollars for our clients.
